FAQ’s

  • Simply put, it gives us more freedom—to focus on what truly matters: your care. By not working with insurance, we’re able to offer greater confidentiality and flexibility. It means we’re not limited by session time caps, diagnosis requirements, or treatment restrictions that insurance companies often impose. Instead, we can collaborate on a pace and approach that’s right for you.

  • I offer a free 15-minute consultation where we can get a sense of the vibe and talk through what brings you to therapy. We’ll briefly discuss your reasons for seeking support, my background and approach, and any questions you might have. There’s no pressure—just a chance to connect and see if working together feels right.

  • Before our first session, you’ll receive some initial paperwork to complete. We’ll take a few minutes to review it together, and then we’ll begin.

In our first few sessions, I’ll ask a range of questions to better understand your story—your experiences, relationships, values, and the challenges that brought you here. This helps me get a fuller picture of who you are and how I can best support you.

Building trust is essential in therapy, and we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported from the very beginning.

  • To build momentum and create meaningful progress, I recommend committing to weekly sessions—at least for the first three months. This consistency helps establish a strong therapeutic foundation and allows us to address challenges more effectively.

As you begin to feel more grounded and see progress, we can revisit the frequency of sessions together and explore whether it feels appropriate to space them out. The process is collaborative, and we’ll adjust as needed based on your goals and needs.

  • The length of therapy is highly individual. Many clients begin to notice meaningful change around the six-month mark and feel ready to complete treatment at that time. Others choose to continue with longer-term therapy for deeper self-exploration and ongoing support, sometimes staying for years.

There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline. We’ll check in regularly about how things are going and make decisions together based on your goals, growth, and what feels right for you.

  • An intensive is simply a longer therapy session. Sometimes, 50 minutes isn’t enough to fully explore what’s coming up. If we often find ourselves running up against the clock or ending sessions feeling unfinished, a longer session might offer the space we need to go deeper without rushing.

Intensives can be especially helpful for processing complex experiences or making progress more efficiently. If it feels like the right fit, we can discuss what extended sessions could look like for you.
